Abandoned insect engineering

Although I don't recall any wasps causing a nuisance in the mower store last year, I noticed this empty nest high up in the roof this afternoon. It's quite amazing what these little creatures are capable of!

They are truly fascinating, when you consider the work that goes into them. We had a Hornets nest in the loft a few years back the size of a small dustbin.
