    Kitchen visitor

The other evening on arriving home I found this spider on my kitchen floor; they were very obliging and remained stationary whilst the light was switched on and I went to get my camera.
I assume the spider thought that if it did not move I would not see it.
After posing, my model was given a new home in the garden although I suspect it was not long in following me back inside.

All comments and observations gratefully received.

    Rose.

Nice capture Rose, time of the year for spiders to come indoors to take advantage of heating

Oh look at those elbows! well done Rose.

It would be difficult to get really low down but if it comes back in, try putting it on a table so that you can get at eye level with it for a really scary full frontal portrait style image.

If you feel the need look up Paul Iddon Photography, he's a master (IMHO) of macro creatures, not just spiders

Well captured Rose, he looks big. A macro shot sounds good but might be tricky and scary to achieve! Well done.

Yes, it actually was quite a large spider; I had to hunt for something large enough so that it was not harmed on moving.

I had not thought of trying a head on shot -- it was still enough that I may have been able to grab some type of image. I think at the time I was more concerned in capturing the image before it decided to move to safer ground. If it comes back (I've not seen it so far) I'll try different angles.
