    Flutterbies on the purple .....

    not really a bird photography day today so turned my attention to a patch of purple stuff that was teeming with butterflies - a bit trickier to photograph than I thought and DoF is a killer! Peacock and small tortoiseshell I think - red admirals and commas not around unfortunately

      By the looks for the shadow fairly strong sunshine. Lovely colours.

        Thanks both - yep Di very bright sun, which I guess brings them out. Same again today and forecast is great for the next couple of days so would be nice if a couple more species came in! Does kind of make the birds a bit quiet though but this time of year is always a bit strange with migration etc - waiting to see what the winter brings, and really lloking forward to seeing our resident whoopers return
