    A few butterflies

    Hi

Here are a couple of butterfly pictures i have taken. I have no idea on the species so feel free to inform me, also any other comments welcome.

As background some are taken in Chester Zoo Butterfly house and others are in the wild, namely Florida. All are taken on a 5d mk2 with a 100-400mm zoom (not the best lens for the job i admit!)

    Thanks for looking.

    Regards

    Carl

These were taken in the wild at Longboat Key, Sarasota, Florida.

These were taken at the Butterfly house in Chester Zoo.

    Something a bit different

This one was taken at Cannon Beach, Oregon.

    Beautiful. I particularly like #1 and 5.

The 100 - 400mm may not have been your first choice of lens for this, but it has certainly done you proud.

Nice pictures, I also agree with #1 and #5 as the best. It seems that you have joined the long lens macro club as there are a number of folks on this forum who use telephoto lenses to get pictures of butterflies, dragonflies and the like
