    Dartford Warbler

I popped out for some fresh air to the beach this afternoon and took the camera just with my 70-200 and 1.4x, just in case, never really expecting to see anything much other than the odd gull or two.
The cliff top is designated a local nature reserve with lots of gorse bushes and on the noticboard of wild life you might see were stonechats and if you were very lucky a dartford warbler.
I thought no more about it but was about half way back to the car when I spotted a stonechat on the gorse just a little too far away, so I approached nearer and as is usual with me he flew off, only to be replaced a few seconds later by this dartford warbler - really made my day as I have never seen one one the flesh before and i got some shots too

Lucky lucky man and well caught. We don't have them in Ireland. A nice little bird, rather like a faded robin.

He's got to be saying "ouch" with his legs going in opposite directions.

nice one Stan, was this on Hengistbury?
My camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

no it was on the overcliff at Boscombe more or less opposite the bowling green - not an area I would have expected to find one of these

Very nice Stan! Another cracker, and a bit of a rarity. Well seen and caught, although the pose is a bit unusual!

              All the best, Mike.

Another shot when he moved to a different gorse bush - not so much eye contact with this one but I like the pose
