    Water Rail

    Very elusive birds that if you see them at all, its fleeting as they dart from one side of the reedbed to another, so it was great to see one in the open around the feeders at Warnham - apparently he was seen most days.

      Best time to see one when the grounds frozen,nice shot.

          Well done Stan!

          Yes, very elusive, only ever seen 2 and only managed grab shots! Was he/she out in the open for long?

          I'm definitely going to visit sometime soon-ish!

            Thanks guys

            Was he/she out in the open for long?
            probably for about 5 minutes which is a long time for a water rail. As Tigerburnie says it was probably an easy source of food when the ground is frozen so whether he will be around as much now its getting a little warmer remains to be seen

            Here's another shot - similar but i think i prefer this one
