    My back garden yet again from today

    well it the only place i can go at the mo as not able to work to far so sorry about this just keeping in a good mood taking photos as the mo, as daytime tv is a bit drool for a 30ish male ( more 40ish )

      Sorry to hear that you are still house bound but hope that will not last too much longer. You have a nice garden with plenty of colour, there seems to be lots of plants that you can experiment with photographing such as the Alium.

      I would keep practicing and looking not only at the foreground of the picture but also the background. The detail that you have in the flower of the Alium shot is great but IMHO if you had managed to move round somehow to reduce / remove the shadow being cast that you have made an even better picture. Try using the different lenses and changing the f stop to keep a single flower head in focus and then throwing the background out of focus. I have in the past had great fun using a 70-300 (in your case 75-300) lens for photographing a single flower head, try the lens at 300mm and f5.6 to see what you get.
