Wasps and a Nest

These were spotted on the nature reserve in Menorca, not quite sure what exactly they are but they look very agressive. Whilst Dee was playing it safe and using her 300 f4 and converter from a distance, I decided to get in close with my canon 100 f2.8 macro....Dee got a bit worried as they seemed to be getting agitated and getting ready to attack.....why didnt she tell me !!! - you can see the one at the top does look quite angry

I have a very healthy respect for anything that can hurt or kill, getting 'involved' in nest building is very close to suicidal. Great shot none the less - just a shame it's not all in focus
