    Brownsea Red Squirrel

    From yesterdays trip to the Island. Lucky to get a few shots as they are not usually so visible at this time of year

        I went on Sunday and they are about. Well done for this shot Stan.

        Strange to think that probably 99% of the UK population will never see one in the wild.

          did you get any shots ?
          I was lucky with this I think - as you know the light up by the villa is usually rubbish and I took a number of shots earlier in the day but although the body was exposed right, the tail was completely blown out with no chance of rescue. This one was taken later just as i was about to call it a day when the sun had moved around a bit

            They were really up for it on Sunday. Quite happy to pose, but on one occasion there were four on the same tree. Not sure whether it was play or war, but there was so much pandemonium I just couldn't track them.

            Like yours, all were light tailed and eared at this time of year.

              that is quite unusual, there were two together early in the morning when the light was no good

                Nice pics of the red squirrels. I have never seen one around my neck of the woods although I have seen several in and around Berlin!!
