    Summer Chafer

    Not heard of it ? - well nor had I until today. Itsd a member of the beetle family and about 20 cm long and as you can see very hairy. Shot today at Arne RSPB, Canon 100 f2.8 LIS macro, 7D, 1/60, f8, ISO 800

    What an ugly beetle, well from this view.

      Weird things aren't they - spent one long night last year on Osprey surveillance in a hut with 20 of these things scratching around - not my favourites!!

        Bloody hell Stan if that is 20cm long you must have been in Elephant grass. I think I would have wanted a shotgun not a camera to shoot it with
