I wish. What I would give to be in that situation!!

I know what you mean. Unfortunately with Barn Owls, that's likely to be a vole in the long grass, so we're not likely to see that. Wouldn't mind a take-off shot with one hanging from the beak though!

I try for that shot every spring, when they are more likely to be out in daylight to catch enough to feed the chicks, but it's never happened yet!

I know you are aware that I always try to plan my shots. I already "see them" in my mind, so somehow I have to make it happen, or wait until it happens and be prepared for it. Notwithstanding any of that, I always keep alert for the unnexpected and what might happen. I call these my lucky accidents.

Who was it that said "the more I practice, the luckier I get" (?).

Beautiful, beautiful pictures, great skill. Perhaps one day I might get that good, but it's going to take quite a while.

Ok colin, not bad set of images, oh alright there excellent! 3 and 4 are my favourites. Even you must be pleased with these results. By the way what lens were you using for the shoot?
