Another from my last Hawk Conservancy visit. This eagle was in dark shade with a shaft of light coming in from behind so I decided to have a go at a low key approach. I don't think its come out too badly, what do you reckon?

Re: Battleur Eagle
thanks Keith & Muscat, I was pleased with the result as I had to darken down the splash of light on the right hand lower side and applied quite a strong vignette to bring the face to the foregroundMy camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

Re: Battleur Eagle
I'm struggling so much with my photography that I don't have the time to bother with my speiling Stan , They had him sat out on the short stands under the shade of the large treeMy camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

Re: Battleur Eagle
I confess that if I was stood looking at that bird and that bird was sat looking at me I don't think I would be able to take a photo...
Stunning shot, stunning bird.Di ~ Trying to take "the" photograph.

Re: Battleur Eagle
thanks Colin, I'm also very fond of Low Key portraits whether it be people , animals or birds. I think it adds something a bit extra, particularly "Black on Black" as (more or less) here.
This prints up beautifully at A3 and I'm now debating on whether to use a black or Antique White mount. I guess I will just have to try both and then make my mind upMy camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

Re: Battleur Eagle
I think it would look good no matter how you printed it. What an excellent picture!David
