    portraits

A group of us from my camera club had a social evening / portyrait session last night, these are a couple of the shots from last night,

    5D3, 100mm f2.8 ISL macro, f5.6, 1/125, ISO100

5D3, 50mm nifty fifty, 1/500, f1.8, ISO12,800 (the room wasn't too bright and someone else had the lights)

Excellent action on the second and the first is pin sharp but perhaps a tad oversharpened - particularly the skin of her face - was she wearing thick makeup ?

            Re: portraits

For me, number one is a little too sharp for a female portrait.

Number two is quite amazing, lovely quality at the ISO.

Thanks for looking and commenting folks.

Stan, Colin I agree about the sharpening, I checked the sharpen for screen box on Lightroom before exporting it and only saw how much extra sharpening there was once I had posted it on my monitor her skin is nice and soft. I was astounded at the quality I could get at the very high ISO, it was better than one guy was getting on his 7D at ISO1,600

Though the portrait is sharp in #1 I personally think it adds to the image as its set up as a "wow in your face" image not look how pretty i am (though she looks very nice)and gives the image the impact that's required.
