    ELVIS imPRESsedLEY

Our local Dance Festival a week ago included quite an impressive Elvis impersonator - brave of him to perform in black leather in the sweltering heat -

    - and in his shiny "Las Vegas" gear -

    - even more impressive than his singing and moving were his troop of Las Vegas dancers -

But not everyone was impressed - the younger members of the audience weren't distracted from their McDonald Happy Meals by all the music and gyrations -

    7D with 24-105L or 70 - 300 DO IS.

    Cheers, Chris.

A good lookalike alright. How was his singing? I like #3 with the Las Vegas dancers.

Thank you Nat - his singing was actual very good. Quite a professional performance. I too like the one with the Las Vegas dancers, although exposure was a problem with him in black in the shaded part of the stage and the right hand dancer in white in the sun at the other end.....
      Cheers, Chris.

Think you handled the lighting / exposure really well, I too like the one with the dancers, it just adds that little something extra.

Coming back to the Elvis Presley impersonator, I don't know if any of the South Walian members remember a Sikh Elvis from Swansea who would perform on and off in Cardiff and other venues. He couldn't sing very well but his backing group was good. Some of his numbers were "Popodum rock", "Bindi Baji Boogie" along with some of genuine Elvis Presley numbers. We all thought that he was a "hoot"! with the fun element predominent.

P.S- His backing singers (ladies) all wore sarees!!

These are great, and Elvis impersonators are always a hoot (as long as they don't take themselves too seriously)

I don't/can't remember that number; but this group (Elvis Sikh) also sang another number "sari, sari, sari".
