A huge canvas reproduction of a wall painting in Llanynys, dating back to mediavel times, was displayed at St.Asaph Cathedral today- 17th May 2014. The painting is by Lancashire artist Mick Kirkman, a one time Longbow champion and is an interpretation of St.Christopher and the Christ child.Mick Kirkman was joined by the Vicar of Llanynys Rev Philip Chew and the canvas was brought from Darwen in Lancashire to the Cathedral today. After the painting has been displayed at St.Asaph Cathedral for 4 weeks, it will stand alongside the original wall painting in St.Saeran's church in Llanynys to show how it might have looked when it was originally completed around 1415.
