    Waling on the Dead

    Shot taken in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. Its a view of daily shoppers walking on pavement art - the art represents the 661 men who died in WW1 from this small area of the UK. There is a chalk painted figure for each man. The art will fade over the weeks as rain washes the chalk away. A very moving memorable.
    Tech stuff. Canon 16-35 f4 IS lens at f22, ISO 100 and hand held at 1/8th seconds. Camera- Canon 5D Mk3. EXIF data on image is intact & should be readable. I have also taken shots at 1/2 seconds and the IS renders pin sharp images on this lens.
    Comments & questions welcome.

    Hello James; that would be quite disturbing methinks if the shoppers stopped to think about what they were doing! I wonder how many actually look!
    Cheers;

      The truth is that there are so many chalk figures (1) you can't help but walk on them otherwise the town centre would be closed off (2) it really hits you how many were killed from what was a small town. I suppose that's what you would call an effective piece of 'installation art'
