    Whitby Goth Weekend.

Despite being warned, we visited Whitby this weekend during the Goth Weekend - it was great to see the Goths, Emos, Steam Punks and just people generally dressed up and so willing to be photographed.

Here are a few from my collection:

Good set Jock. No idea what emos are, wasn't he in Emmerdale running the pub lol.

Really like the reaction of the lady to the right in the third, shame the subject is looking away.

Interested Jock. Did you ask about taking photos and if so, how was that received?

                  Re: Whitby Goth Weekend.

Thanks everyone. I was trying to get something slightly different here - not the "full on" portrait shots, but more profiles.

Di, there were so many photographers around, snapping away that, in general people just took what they wanted. I did find we got a much better reaction if we asked - but then people would pose so we didn't get that element of surprise in. Many of the people came prepared though - we had a few who said, "Please can you email us the pictures of us." Some even went to the trouble of having cards with their email addresses on them!

One thing that did help a lot though was just to say, "Thank you!" to anyone who let us capture their image. Most would then strike a pose and allow more photographs.
