    Respect

    On Tuesday of this week, the wife and I decided to take the long trip to London and pay our respects / see the poppy display at the Tower.

    It was extremely busy and difficult to get some pictures, so excuse the crop and hope its come out ok, but it was lovely to see a Chelsea Pensioner and the 100s of people paying their respects to him.

        Alan - that wasnt even a small percentage of the crowd - if you look deep into the background of one of my other photos you will see pathways lined with queues of people trying to walk round other viewing areas. I did take some other crowd pictures - but havent post processed many as didnt like some of them LOL.

                I don't think that I've seen a bad photo of this display yet. Its so overpowering in its sentiment and presence. (If that makes sense)

                  Di - I have quite a few bad photos if you really want to see some - some ideas of mine just didnt work and some I just ended up with peoples heads right in front of me as some people were so ignorant, pushing etc. With patience, there was plenty of time for everyone to take photos / pay respects etc.

                  Primarily though I went to see the display, pay my respects, then take photos so I wasnt too bothered what I got, but am really pleased with quite a few that I came back with.

                  I was really lucky to get that first shot above as so many people were going up to him, paying respects, having photos done with him. There is actually someone stood with him on his right - it was the only way i could get the shot in at the time with the poppies in view as well and with a bit of cropping I have managed to get the finished product above which I am pleased with.
