Headshots for a Band - Critique Please.

    Hi,

I'd be very grateful for opinions on these photos (double exposures) I took for a band I was working with recently. They ended up not being used in favour of other, more conventional, photo's from the session.

    What's your thoughts?

By the way, Canon 60D and Sigma 50-150 f2.8 (if I remember correctly), for those of us interested in these things!

I like the both and well put together. I thinks it's hard for anyone other then you and the band to give reason why they didn't choose your shots. Depends on the mood and look they were after.

Yes, this photography lark is very subjective - life would be much duller if clients always agreed with our choices.....

Here you go Ian, some that did find favour:

Well I'd have gone for your double exposures myself, as the last three (though very nicely shot, don't get me wrong) don't stand out from a million other such band member photos. But I guess they wanted a tougher image than perhaps they got from the first.
Some great work on your website, by the way, in some really interesting locations.

Aw, thanks AlexR. I agree about the tougher image, that had crossed my mind too. Really appreciate you having a look at the website and your comments.

Your macro work (in particular) over on Flickr is very impressive, as is Garrick's Temple - superb.

I think it has all been said. As the 1st 2 are very well done, but the band must of wanted a harder look of the other images. Again very well done.
