    5 metre tall lady....

... well, a 5 metre tall corn dolly, displayed in the grounds of the Compton Verney Museum and art Gallery in Warks. One of several art works dotted around the grounds.

Called Kern Baby, created by Faye Claridge. After its time here I believe it goes to the new Birmingham Library.

    7D + 24-105L.

Compton Verney is well worth a visit - delightful grounds, ace exhibitions and super food....

    Cheers, Chris.

Does she have a face - would have preferred a front view

I think that is the front view - no face as such.
      Cheers, Chris.

            Isn't it just!!

Looks like some sort of Pagan ritual.

With the building in the shot it certainly gives it scale, whatever 'it' is

Shame about the boat race. Thinking along the same lines as Stan.
                  Like the picture anyway.

                    Hi, All.
I may have been wrong about the front/back. I spent a lot of time looking at it and thought I shot the front. But, looking at the artist's web-site - www.fayeclaridge.co.uk/news.html - I may be wrong. If you have a look at that site it shows the other side. Note the nice Palladian bridge in the background.
                    Cheers, Chris.

the real clue, apart form the lack of face is that the position of the arms and hands is pointing slightly backwards

Chris, it may be the back (which is a slight shame), but the composition of your shot works better for me than hers because the scale is so much more obvious with the building in. Nice though that bridge is.
