Thanks Ian - although the girl in the first photograph and the left hand one in the second photograph are both my step-daughters (almost!) so that makes it less risky as street work!

I did wonder how you had got away with it, thought maybe you had used a camera with the flip out screen, but your explanation clears that up.
Nice quality images, did the lighting put any sort of cast on the shots?

Yes there was a strong colour cast and I played with a number of versions before going with this one where I both changed the white balance quite a lot and also desaturated quite strongly for a slightly "tired" feeling.
