    The Orde r of St.Asaph- 3rd Oct 2016

Yesterday evening was the presentation of the Order of St.Asaph medals to selected persons for outstanding service to the Diocese of St.Asaph. There is no case of "cronyism" in these awards. Anyone from the Laity can be nominated for the award which then goes to a select committee. The committee will make the final decision and forward the names of those worthy of this honour to the Bishop who makes the presentation. All photos taken with the Canon 6D + 24-105mm L lens. Manual setting using TV 80-100;AV 6.3;auto ISO;auto WB and no flash.

Thank you Tom. An evening I had to contend with sunlight streaming through the large windows plus the spirit lights within the cathedral.

I have to say Nat, your images are always good, especially given the circumstances you are usually shooting in. But, these are definitely some of the best I have seen from you. Truly excellent work Sir,

Thank you Garry. Always a challenge when shooting in low light to ensure that the colours are correct i.e whites should be white, plus skin tones etc.

Another nice set of images delivering good results - especially without flash. I would be pleased to have taken these. From your comments on other threads I believe you generally don't shoot raw - are these pretty much straight from the camera or did you do any PP?

Thanks Enigma and John for passing by. Yes, I generally don't shoot only in Raw but at best Raw/jpeg to be on the safe side in case of unrepeatable pictures like these ones. Having said that I did not have to go back to RAW for any of these pictures. They were fine in Jpeg but I did some PP in terms of removing the colour cast, cropping the images where necessary, slight sharpening.

they are all well exposed and sharp but when it comes down to it they are all just record shots of an event and far too many for critique

Thanks Stan. Yes, I agree that they are record shots but at the same time I couldn't make any mistakes as there was no way I could have repeated the same. Hence, I did shoot in RAW/Jpeg- something I always do with non repeatable events- but there was no need for me to "recover" any photo via RAW. Anyway, thanks for passing by.

I am not talking about raw, jpeg or anything else, it is just there are too many shots to "critique" and most follow a similar theme to loads you have posted in the past, ie, shots of the congregation, shots of the elders of the church etc, not meaning to be rude but they are just the same old same
