Well taken Chris. I remember watching the black powder brigade on the ranges at Bisley! Huge amounts of smoke.

Nice shot, never fired a flintlock, but a pal turned up at our old clay pigeon ground and let me fire a percussion cap muzzle loader. There was that much smoke no-one knew if I hit the target or not.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English wayComment

Nicely timed shot Chris.
I fired one of these once - the delay between pressing the trigger and the actual bang was quite disconcerting but then I was rather more used to instant response of the modern propellants...
