Jane Bown portraits

Some amazing portraits here by Jane Bown, the Observer photographer. She works without artificial light, with no assistants, and uses a 40 year-old camera. Best viewed in full-screen mode - click on bottom-right icon. My favourites are John Lennon and Samuel Beckett, but they are all excellent.

I read the Guardian (and look at their website) The Guardian have a long history of great photographers and editorial images. It is addictive, isn't it? I keep looking at it.

My friend gave me an Amazon token for my birthday so i got it free :)

Just went to the last day of the John Gay exhibition today, so glad that I did. Beautiful work, I've come home inspired!
