    Oktoberfest @ Steel Stacks

    Went to the Oktoberfest at the Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, Pa with the wife. Here are some of the people that were dressed for the occasion.

    All taken with 5DMKII w/EF 70 - 300mm F/4-5.6L IS USM


    1/320sec @ f/5.0, ISO 100 @ 176mm

    Does Steel Stacks really look like this? http://www.steelstacks.org/ It looks quite bizarre, but a good use of an old industrial site, I suppose. Good shots.

        Looks like a great festival Tom. Some wonderful expressions on the ladies in #1 (LHS) and #4, well captured. Overall an excellent set of shots that really give the viewer a feel for the occasion

        I wouldn't like to try and get a tune out of those instruments in #3 and #5. I do hope you helped the couple in#2 to get to/find the bar on the map before closing time, so that he could get a refill for the empty glass

          Yes, they really look like that. Bethlehem Steel was over 100 years old before it filed for bankruptcy and shut down. That happened in the late 1990's and the city with the help of private donations and corporate sponsors (Sand's Casino) have started to reclaim the brown fields that the Steel mill left behind, while keeping the Mill as a reminder of the City's past.
