Early Decemeber is the month when St.Nicholas does his rounds in and around St.Asaph and makes it a point to visit when there is a confirmation service. On Wed 9th Dec he did not disappoint, with his bells,bangs and Ho- Ho- Ho's!

Many years ago while in southern Turkey we stopped at a place Demre (thanks Wiki, I couldn't recall the name) where St Nicholas apparently originated from. Long way from the northern climes that we associate him with today.
