    Amy & James - Wedding 6th Aug 2011

This is my 5th wedding to date. The location of the bridal preps and ceremony was at Dunbeath Castle, Caithness, Scotland. Great photogenic location. It was dry, still and wind free which is the way I like it, though the midges were rather fience! How did I do? C&C most welcome.

          "You dun good."

Just the right amount of fill flash to give you the light you need and some artistic posing where necessary ........... well done.

These were lit with x2off Canon EX580II triggered by a hotshoe mounted Pocket Wizard MiniTT1 / FlexTT5(x2), all on lighting stands using ETTL mode from a Canon 5D MkII (Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 lens)

            Thanks for all the comments.

Nice work Deemac. I'm doing one on Saturday, so I'll be paying close attention to some of these compositions.

#9 - I love the composition, but I'm not sold on the "mono-background/colour subject" thing. I know lots of people love it, just doesn't do anything for me (but I'm sure the client will like it, which is what counts).

              Well done.

Edit - also hopeful of similar weather conditions..

If that was the 5th wedding date, then you're going to be very very busy - and good luck to you. Photo #9 is a belter but 4 & 7 are fantastic. Great use of the railed fence as a prop.

Thanks Macci - that just made my day! Yes, what a difference a good location and photogenic couple make to a wedding shoot.

There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!
