    Special Effects

Here are three images that were taken to fill the brief provided by the model. The first was an idea she had to be lit from above I modified the idea to have her lit by the moon. The second and third were to demonstrate her skill as a makeup artist and I added the background interest.

The first one works very well, how did you light it Alan ?
The second one with the hair and neck adornments is my choice between two and three. Nice work from both the subject and photographer

Like the first one Alan. Know someone who did a similar shot out on the Heathland behind my place. It was the night of the harvest moon, he had this girl dressed in black, she reminded me of the girl in the Scottish Widow advert. She was standing on a stool covered in grey cloth, with one of my metal feeding troughs below the stool that he lit a fire in. The finished shot was her rising out of the flames clutching the moon. Quite a dramatic shot, all done with the light of the moon and fire.

The moon shot is a composite. The girl was in the studio looking up and holding my beauty dish with it's difusser fitted. I photographed the moon with my Camera attached to my friends astro telescope (must buy one of those) and then added it to the original picture in Photoshop.
There is actually a mistake in the version of the shot I uploaded.

Are you going to tell us the mistake Alan or have we got to let one of our “ astrological experts “ tell us? I think the moon maybe the wrong way round? Great shots anyway.

There is a tiny bit of stray light on the model's left wrist. I uploaded the wrong version. Here is the correct version. We all make mistakes.
That was one of the last pictures I took with the R6. The moon was taken some years ago with my 5D II

Mistake or not, it is a great pc - must admit I hadn’t noticed it and had to look twice to see it.
