    Salisbury Cathedral Inside

Like in many churches the pews have been removed to make way for modern seating and so it is in the main body of the cathedral, the exception being the original choir stalls are still in place. Here are two shots, viewed from opposite ends of the choir. As with most of the days shots i decided to shoot 3 exposures, inside, mainly with the idea of trying to avoid blown highlights but I found that with such a vast range between light and dark it was impossible to avoid them completely

Shot with 7D and canon 10-22, tripod and remote release

Both very nice Stan, I agree with you ref the modern seats in a church etc, they just don't look right, these pews look great.

Have just noticed the wire leading down from the Eagle in No 2, could you clone that?

I really like the symmetry you have achieved.

        Regards Paul

cheers Paul, the chairs are ultra modern too in chrome and wood

its the wire to the microphone. I already took out a trailing wire on the floor but forgot about that one (the wife Dee also pointed it out)

Very nice and sharp. I notice that the 3 images are leaning slightly to the right- could be my monitor or a visit to Specsavers is urgently needed! Or it could be how it has been posted.

Nice images Stan, never easy to get all the verticals straight in this type of image, but you've done a good job. I have a preference for the second, third image as it shows more detail in the ceiling.

worth a visit and far better during the week when there is less chance of other visitors spoiling the shots

Well taken, Stan, and better with the wire gone.
Have you considered bringing out the full dynamic range with some subtle HDR processing? For me, this kind of subject is what it was made for.
