    Wireless flash triggers

Well I seem to have solved the problem of different sync speeds with the Pixel King radio triggers in that they have stopped working, I don't know about blowing up the Canon flashguns but I seem to have killed the radio triggers.

This being the case I have placed an order for the Yongnuo triggers at a staggering £42 compared to the near £300 I paid for the Pixel King units.

"Deaded" triggers are no fun when you are in the middle of a water drop session.

Do you have any other means to keep going? A hotshoe mounted Canon flash pointing away from the subject should fire the Yongnou's, without getting the halo.

      Re: Wireless flash triggers

Colin yes I could use one of the Canon flashes to optically fire the Yongnuo's but as I had been occupying the dining room since Friday afternoon Mrs M was making noises about getting access again so I decided that I would pack away for a few days until the new trigers and 3rd Yn-560 arrive which should be by the end of the week.

The other reason I had to pack things away is that I was 'advised' just before lunch that I had to collect our two youngest grandchildren from school and feed them this evening. Last time the 4 and 6 year olds were here and I had the kit out it was a mess

Oh no! Silver-lining though, you get to trial YN triggers withe the Canon/YN 'guns to see whether there's still a discrepancy in sync.

I'm going to hold-fire on my 560 purchase 'till I know whether it will sync correctly.

          Which triggers did you get?

I know it is Chinese New Year but I still don't know of many companies that close for 3 weeks at Christmas and when I was working with the Chinese I still didn't find any of them shutting down for that length of time.

having been in Asia for Chinese New Year in the past it is a great holiday and normal has spectacular firework displays and if you are lucky dragon dancers.

Muscat, I have those triggers and they work well with both my 580EXII and also my YN560 and also an old Cobra flash. I hope to be joining the 'Splash Club' later this week and a friend bought a splash kit 2 years ago and he has never used it, picking it up off him on Thursday evening.

Wish I had friends like that.

Is it the SplashArt kit he has, or another make? It would be interesting if it was another make so we could do some comparisons.

There was I think a Mk1 Splash Art kit, battery powered rather than the current wall-wart power supply, it'll be interesting to see whether that's the one you've been gifted!
