Mermaid or possibly an accident or an "evil" deed.

Whilst travelling between Calgary and Banff, I came across a Red Indian store with lots of natural stuff. In a corner, inside a glass cage,I came across this "mermaid" which was washed ashore in Lake Louise around 1850. The story is that the child accidentally fell over into the water or was deliberately sacrificed. The large fish couldn't apprarently eat/swallow the child and both perished. I had to use flash as the glass cage/tank was kept in a darkened part of the store. If I had posted this image previously, my applogies, and if not take a look.

Gruesome to say the least Nat. Thanks for the story behind the image, your memory is better than mine would be.

Alan and Tom, thanks for taking a look. I did buy a picture post card of this image and hence the "details" are all there. Always, something out of the ordinary, hits me strong and hard! Alan, I don't trust my memory to keep these details. I also know that my elder two grand children were scared ouf of their wits when they received this PPC from Canada!
