    Kensington Palace

Spent the afternoon looking around Kensington Palace on Tuesday thanks to some tickets my wife was given as a birthday present. Armed with my camera I rattled a few off. Didn't realise just how dark it would be inside!

So a great test to see how it handled high ISO. I have to say I was mighty impressed. The shots came out well exposed, yes they are noisy but after some cleaning up using various methods, I am rather pleased with some of them. But that's for you guys to decide of course.

Looking up at the Kings Staircase (8,000 ISO) (should have HDR'd the windows)

I like the third Alan but the angle / composition of the first doesn't quite work for me particularly with the fairly large expanse of 'blown' Windows on the left

Valid point Stan. I'm kicking myself for not bracketing the shot. Was more concerned with pushing the ISO to the max and overlooked the obvious floors. Another lesson learnt

8000 ISO at 1/25 didn't you do well

I do like the 1 & 3 but you should have bracked the shots as that probably would have helped a lot with the noise

The 2nd is way too noisy

Thanks mate. Yes well impressed with the camera at those settings. And I've kicked myself plenty for not bracketing

I think you should call round to Patrick's and let him do it for all of us

but the mkii is coping well with high ISO and you could have got no where near that with the old girl

I'd say 8,0000 is prob it's limited as the lantern was 10,000 and didn't really clean up too well but good enough
