Not something I've ever tried but you seem to have the knack. The last one is favourite and yes the effect does say hippy era Beetle, even if the wheels say 'Don't even think about it'...

my local photographic society tried some light-painting last night here's my first image:

by lighting the inside of the car with a coloured torch you get an ghostly effect:

finally, a little editing - 3 different images with different coloured torch applied to main image, then a colour gradient fill applied to the light-trail
and the Beetle looks a little more "of it's time"
