    Using HDR For Interior Shots

Playing with HDR to take interior shots.

    All shots taken with:

    Camera 5D MKII
    Lens: EF 16-35mm f2.8L @ 17mm
    Each picture is made up of 3 photos -1.5, 0, +1.5 @ f/11 ISO 400

    Family Room

    Bedroom 1

    Bedroom 2

    Bedroom 3

All processed in Lightroom using Nik HDR Efex Pro, then over to elements to fix the perspective.

    What are your thoughts?

Tom, nice idea and the HDR has been used well.

I think it has worked well in the family room and bedroom 2 but for me there seems to be a colour cast in the bedroom 3, possibly from the pink walls and in the bedroom 1 shot the carpet seems to change colour quite dramatically from the left of the bed to the right, not sure why but if it meant to be the same colour I think this needs a little more work.

I must have a go at HDR some time

Works well as i wouldn't of known that HDR had been applied,
Agree about Bedroom1, but a bit of photoshop can sort that colour change.
Do you have a shot taken with just one exposure of a room to see what the difference is with out HDR. been applied

Thanks for the comments. The carpet color difference is caused by how the carpet was walked on. Thanks for pointing that out, as I should of run the sweeper & tried & get the carpet to look uniform. Something to note for the next time.

Tom, I'm really impressed with these.

I've been VERY critical of HDR images previously, but these really work for me. I think it's apparent from the "normal" shots that the treatment has been very symptheticlly applied and is very subtle, but effective.

Major lesson here, I reckon - less is often more!! Great work.

Good effort, I agree with the above comments.

All I would suggest is one addtional exposure metered for the windows.
