    PCB

Well the idea was to take an old DVD player or similar, remove the pcb and shoot it as a mini cityscape/industrial. I am not too sure if it has worked but post it to see what you think. I originally tried with flash but that just gave horrible shadows so this is just with natural light and a long exposure of 20sec, f20, ISO 200, 40mm pancake lens

Must admit, it's a first for me :) Lots of folk use those little figures of workmen on PCB's to simulate them doing jobs. You also have a macro lens. It might cure the rainy day boredom :)

            Re: PCB

It works for me Stan, I would be tempted to crop the right hand edge so that the aluminium plates actually run into the edge rather than ending short as I find the far right hand component with the bright bits too eye catching, I would probably also slightly tone down the bright rectangular components on the far left just to hold the eye more into the middle of the image.

Like the idea of this. :-) This could just be me. But I think you need more than one board so you can make it look like the city is going off into the hotizon.

it was quite a big board and I could possibly have made it look deeper by shooting a different angle. The shot is in fact two boards but on top of one another - this is the smaller board on its own

                    Re: PCB

For me Stan the edited version of #1 is the best version but of the 3 images posted I think I actually prefer the single board, how about making the bottom below the board black or very dark grey rather than blue to give it a proper base
