Inspired by this image and in need of an image for a school assignment, the better part of the day was spent arriving at the base image for this faux magazine cover

Re: An afternoon in the Garage
Thanks Tigger
I started with a metal frame for a set of basket draws. I then cut a sheet of masonite peg-board to size to slide into the track for one of the baskets. I then hot glued the bottle of Chanel to the painted side of the board, which was then inverted and slotted into one of the tracks.
A sheet of translucent white perspex was clamped to the back of the rack, with a cutter on either side just out of shot. Behind that I then had the remainder of the peg-board on top of which was another cutter with a circular hole (about 200mm diameter) cut in it to produce the circular highlight around the bottle.
Behind this was a speedlite with an umbrella as the main light. Below that was a second speedlite (1/4 power) set lower and firing directly at the back of the peg-board, this produced the slightly oval highlights that you can just see in the upper portion of the image. Sheets of blue cellophane were used give the blue tone to the light.
Back to the inverted bottle, on top of the peg board I then made a reservoir out of aluminium foil which I fixed to the board with tape. I then punched hole through it and filled it with corn syrup that had been chilled in the freezer to make it more viscous.
I hope that all made sense I really should have taken a shot of the set up as it would have been far easier to understandLast edited by Jonathan Teatime; 30-11-2015, 03:33.
