Is your tank full to the brim to get the crisp horizon-line? I always seem to get bubbles along the edges of mine

I was using a large wide brimmed coffee cup filled right up to the brim and the black card background is about a feet or so behind - being so full get quite a mess in the drip trayIs your tank full to the brim to get the crisp horizon-line? I always seem to get bubbles along the edges of mine
