A day of BSB testing at Brands Hatch

Today there was a day of testing for the British Superbikes. Rather than just take pictures of endless bikes going past I tried to get a sequence of images per rider.

So here is a couple of a new for 2012 rider, Jenny Tinmouth. Jenny has the distinction of being the only lady competitor and is doing it on a shoestring, doing much of the mechanicing herself.

She is riding with the number 8 for the season for those that are watching it on TV. Certainly she was no slouch today, so I suspect she will be midfield this season

She very kindly posed for a portrait in a break in the testing

Superb portrait shot Brian, track shot is too 'static' for me but still good and sharp.

Gutted as I was going to go today but as Cory and I have next week off work I really didn't want to push my luck by pulling a sicky.

The light levels were constantly changing and this was obviously a bright moment. I have plenty of others down to 1/320 where I got panning blur - just didn't get the portraits as well. I have a good sequence of 4 of Shakey.

I am not really into motorsports so this was just a practice for me. I took a lot of portraits of the riders in the pits with the 400

The 400 was too short for track use - the 600 would have been easier.

Looking again I think the second shot is a total fail and you really should box up that 400 2.8 and give it to me (can't blame a guy for trying)

Nice images Brian, and thats a nice shot of Shakey Byrne. I like Brands as I done a few laps around it last year, it's quite an experience dropping down Paddock hill bend on a bike.

Superb shot of Shakey, the guy is a true hero. As for the B&W. . . . . sorry doesn't work for me, think modern racing really should be in colour.
