Great set full of action with good exposure control, (the camera usually goes to pot with all that bright white ice)

Thanks Paul, yea exposure can be a big problem, the lighting is also very inconsistent with bright and dark spots. Really like the rugby shots.

Number 1 was 5D MKiii 70-200 2.8 1/800 f2.8 iso1600,spot metering, custom w/b, case 4 @70mm
Number 2 was 5D MKiii 70-200 2.8 1/800 f2.8 iso1200,partial metering, auto w/b, case 4 @80mm
Number 3 was 5D MKiii 70-200 2.8 1/800 f2.8 iso1000,spot metering, custom w/b case 4 @110mm
Number 4 was 7D 70-200 2.8 1/320 f2.8 iso1250 partial metering, custom w/b @75mm.

Great set, good exposure and the action well captured. My favourite is number 2, the action, the crop, the double diagonals of his body and the stick.

Absolutely, #2 is spot on in my opinion with #3 a close second.
Regarding the Exif, which I and others always appreciate, "Case 4" - what's that, please?

Hi Andy, thank you for your comments, case is just an AF setting used to best suit the subject or type of sport your shooting, I just find case 4 works for hockey. There are 6 different case settings on the 5d mkiii to choose from.
