    Cross Country skiing

    Recently came back from a skiing holiday in the Krokonose mountains in the Czech Republic. You won't call these action shots but I hope to demonstrate the just get out there and enjoy yourself point of view.

    Pictures taken on a Canon 550D with an EFS 15-85mm f3.5/5.6 USM Lens. All shot at ISO400


    1/400sec @ f9 EV+1.3 FL 35mm

    Love #1 - it is so typical of many skiing days - looks cold too - how are your fingers??

      So, someone else goes cross country skiing! Our resolution is to get a lesson on skating next time. Nice pics.

                Fingers were fine. Not as cold as it looks. In the sun hovering around zero and in the mist about minus 3.
                All the pictures were taken within a couple of hours of each other. Fantastic on top as there was an inversion.

                  I can only do the classic style albeit not very well. Would love to skate as well.

                    On top it is about 1,400mts above sea level. From our start point it was 600mts of climbing on skis. This place is higher than the nearby downhill slope.

                      Clearly not as fast as downhill skiers but watch XC skiers in competition and they can go quite fast downhill.
