Thundersports at Brands Hatch - Saturday

Very cold / grey / damp and foggy at Brands Hatch on Saturday for the opening round of the Thundersports but that didn't stop all the guys and gals going out and giving it some. First proper outing with the 300mm, not ideal conditions for testing it but on the whole I think it did okay. Handheld with 1Dmk4 and the 300mm 2.8 mkii

#1 - 1/640, f/3.2, iso 200


#2 - 1/250, f/3.5, iso 100


#3 - 1/250, f/2.8, iso 100 - charge of the 500 singles


#4 - 1/640, f/3.2, iso 640 - Commitment


#5 - 1/400, f/3.2, iso 320 - the Streetfighter loonies were 'no holes barred' as usual


#6 - 1/640, f/3.2, iso 500 - over the crest


I struggled with picking a few to post and keep changing my mind each time I look, feel free to check out the rest from Saturday HERE (1st 19 were with the 70-200 when the fog was at it's worse)

Excellent, all of them, there is not one that is not great!
Depth of field, composition, focus, lighting

That 300mm seems like a lot of fun on the MKIV

BobaPhil: I usually run a lot slower shutter speed than these but the weather / light dictated a lot higher for sharper images, I did manage a few slower ones but whilst reviewing them at the time decided that on this occasion between 1/160 and 1/640 seemed to work out best. May have even got a couple at 1/60 and the other end at 1/1000.

Top set as always David.

I'm down at Brands for the first time since January to watch the BTCC and BTCC support test on Tuesday. Looks like it's going to be freezing but dry.

A good set of pictures and number 173 in the set is great.Shame you could,nt see all his face through his visor.
