    Windsurfing Action

With the rough sea and strong wind, there was some good windsurfing action to be shot this morning with many surfers parting company with their rigs as this sequence shows

      Cheers Ian

Nomally at this location i would use just my 300f4 or 70-200 f2.8 +1.4x and shoot on the beach near the waters edge but today the wind was so strong I could hardly stand let alone keep the camera still so i retreated to stand in front of a wall along the edge of the beach using the 300 and converter and resorted to a bit of cropping

I went to my beach yesterday in the "hope" but the surfers were standing on the boards paddling around - I've only got 70-200 but have a 1.4 & 2x so hopefully should give me enough reach to catch them, assuming they have the waves

Nicely timed sequence Stan, lovely & sharp. You have got to hope he had a tether on it!

                thanks guys

such clarity after a crop, great!!
surfboards are tethered but i dont think these are and the sail on the water prevents it from going too far away

Another couple from a different sequence

Excellent set Stan. The sequence brings home the energy and strain it takes it hang on in there.
