Gets to the point where you want to give up - Mr Scott, I beleive talking to others that you are loosing members because of little niggles like this - might be worth fixing!

Re: Last race and a new lens

Last race of 'our' series at the weekend and chose it to try out the new lens, thankfully the lens was terrific (it was the photographer who was cr@p) 300mm in very 'breezy' conditions - not my brightest decission.

Nothing really exciting as I kinda played it safe but hope there is something you like. 1Dmk4 300mm 2.8 mkII (hand held for 10 hours each day - it was okay but may force myself to try the monopod)

#1 1/250, f/5, iso 100 a 7ltr V8 Dax Rush in the wet was always going to be a challange (lots of spray sorry)

#2 1/500, f/5.6, iso 100 not as high as Tom's two wheeler but a brave line to take in a Caterham

#3 1/500, f/2.8, iso 200 Early shower for the marshals

          #4 1/250, f/3.5, iso 100 almost symetrical

#5 1/400, f/4, iso 100 TVR makes quite a 'whoosh' as it's tearing along the pit wall towards you at full throttle

#6 1/400, f/2.8, iso 100 spotted (looks better full size)

As I said - nothing groundbreaking but at least the 300 and I got to know each other well over 20 hours.

Rest are here if your interested:

A nice set of images mate. Love #3...run away, run away...
The light in # 2 is nice, well caught as well. A timed shot or just lucky, fab all the same.
I love an over the pit wall shot and what a car. Nice.

I'm at the Formula Ford Festival this weekend if you fancy a day out.

As for that php b*****k's, most frustrating. I have moaned about it for months now and no one seems to listen or care.

              See ya.

Nice shots. Like the shower shot, marshals always react so fast I love it.

                      Hey Paul,

Yep - didn't think I was using enough so sold it, regretted it the second the guy drove away so saved for a year and bit the bullet on another.

                      Expensive lesson learnt

No problem Colin - it was the right thing at the time (up to you driving away of course lol) and to be honest a lot of the time the 70-200 2.8 with the 1.4 will more than cover it and you would be hard pressed to see the difference between them BUT in certain situations / positions the 300 is without a doubt king.

How are you getting on with yours? Not seen too much posted - throw us a link if you would be so kind.
