    Goodwood Festival of Speed

    I went on the Friday. Grubby overcast weather in the morning and shooting into the light during the afternoon, not exactly the best conditions for using a 100 - 400mm, but I was surprised how well the lens coped.

    I couldn't resist this Mercedes W196 Grand Prix car, shot at 1/160sec, f5.6 ISO 100.

      I'm down at Goodwood manning our stand (Alvis, new car launch), so haven't had time to see anything.

          Hi Colin,

          Great picture - really like the feeling of speed. You must have a few more pics, so don't be shy - post some more for those petrol-heads that couldn't go to Goodwood this year!

              Hi Stan

              Buy the tickets well in advance and go on the Friday. The weekend is just too busy for photography - at best, you'll get one spot near the straw bale and not move all day, but on the Friday, you have the chance for different locations.

              The Goodwood Revival Meeting is in September. A little bit more action, as it is circuit racing.

                Very nice shot, the panning it just right, and the lack of anything modern in the background really makes this shot
