British MX Championships - Hawkstone Park

    Hi,

My first posts here. Have been trying to learn how to take real photographs, as opposed to point-and-shoot, and recently had a day out at the British MX Championships at Hawkstone Park. A fantastic circuit with lots of history although was never lucky enough to ride there myself. Anyway, below a few that I managed to capture. Would very much welcome any comments.

    welcome

some nice shots there but as I've never taken anything like this I can't offer advice

one thing I would suggest is you use flickr as direct uploads always look soft here as some of yours do

its annoying that direct uploads look soft here - but least by using flickr we can also get further details should we want

As Ian points out best to use flickr to show your images.

Settings though look OK shooting at 1/320 is good for getting motion into the wheels.
Your positioning on the track could be better as i would like to see more of the rider coming towards you out of the corner rather than looking slightly down on them but appreciate motocross tracks are limited to where you can and can't stand.

So not a bad first set and if you manage to get up and running on flickr they'll look great.

bajapete welcome to the forum. Nice set not bad. I would have like another point of view, this one does not seem optimal.

Well done Pete that's much better and shows your image at its best.
