Nice and sharp and panned well for a sense of the speed but needs room to breathe

Agree with Stan, the bike needs somewhere to move into.

Very nice bit of panning with the bike nice and sharp so very good technique
I would still prefer to see the riders face/helmet, but appreciate it's not always easy to get into a perfect position around the track especially on the spectator side.

most have dark visors so you wont see the face anyway - just checked my shots from Thruxton last summer and not a face to be seen

Agree Stan maybe a little optimistic to see the face/eyes in a dark visor plus unfortunately the only part of the rider i can see is his boots and arms.
I would much prefer it to be taken from the opposite side so you could see the rider and not just the bike?
Sorry for image NS3230 I will remove shortly.

Removed Image, not needed now as only for an example.

unless you are an accredited photographer, there is really only one place to shoot from without fences in the way and that is just to the left of the chicane, where you get the sort of angle from your shot, very good by the way.

That is probably where the poster was standing and has shot after the rider has left the chicane and on the straight before it curves to the right

I must admit its never easy to get into great positions from a spectators point of view in motorsport (most of the time),though his panning is spot on and that's the real hard part of the shot.

Thank you gents for all the comments, most of which I agree with.
In my defence I would say that my shot was taken several year ago and that aside from health problems I should of attended a few race meets last year and am confident they will be bettered.
I will post a few 'head-on' shots taken at the same time, once I upload them to Flickr.
ps. Like your shot Paul, excellent detail. Neal
