    Dartmouth Regatta Air Display

As posted elsewhere, Dartmouth hosts an annual regatta that has become a great Air Display with the Red Arrows and Eurofighter regulars.

There have been far better images of them shared on here than I can ever hope to achieve but here are a few that, hopefully, convey the drama of the setting:

Here's the RAF buzzing the Royal Britannia Naval College:

    Cross-overs performed at eye-level:

Flying upside down into a narrow river valley!:

The Eurofighter comes so close it sets car alarms off:

    Cheers,

Nice set of images regardless. You captured the planes well, although some of the background and foreground spoils them. I guess you have to work with what you have though and I certainly wouldn't achieve any better.
I have only been to Dartmouth once, it's a lovely place but the memory is overshadowed by the fact that all but one of my companions spent the night in the cells due to some slightly over the top drunken shenanigans.

Looks to have been a spectacular show and some very low flying, really like the eurofighter, you did well John.

A sentiment a lot of us can share! However I would be happy with these.

                Re: Dartmouth Regatta Air Display

                Thanks folks

Over the years I've shot hundreds of Red Arrows images and nearly all are rubbish so the inclusion of forground and background here was deliberate to produce something different and distance them from the far better 'in clear air' shots posted by others. The last one with the chimney is terrible with no artistic or technical merit but hopefully gives an idea of how close the Eurofighter was.

There are some wonderful pubs in Dartmouth and I've had many a great night out there but needing to catch the last ferry home means I've never been late enough to be at risk of a night in the cells It does have a reputation for a high spirited New Years Eve!

                Cheers,
                John

That was part of the problem, two of us retired early, the rest decided to 'borrow' a boat.

Absolutely cracking set in my opinion, esp the Synchro cross, I like the Typhoon shots too

                        Regards Paul
