    Steam Train on Goods

This photograph was taken on the South Devon Railway here in Devon UK. This location is only possible for you to photograph from if you hold a current Line side and Personal Track Safety Permit, which I do.

Loco GWR 0-6-0 no: 3205 is seen at the Royal Mile working the 08.17 ‘Goods’ from Staverton to Totnes on the 21st February 2015 during the Branch Line Gala.

Any comments on how I can improve are welcome!

I thine the portrait format works in this image Colin. My only suggestion would be is to move the bottom up to the track.

Colin, another vote for shaving something off the bottom to bring the viewer's attention higher. And could you have left a little more room to the left so it had more room to move into than out from? But I do like how you've framed the train with the signal and branches, nicely done.

I would go along with the comments about shaving a bit off the bottom, puts the track right in the corner and better lead-in. Nice shot though.

My first thoughts too, crop up to the track and plant it bang in the corner. If possible the signal needs removing too. It looks to modern for the steam train going past it.
