Have known of this Heritage Railway for a while and finally got round to riding it last weekend . It's a nice little run , especially when you are on the Cream Tea Special , Normally the service is run by a Class 122 "Bubble Car" but our Special was comprising of a set of Mark 2 1st class coaches with a Class 31 diesel at each end . The visit gave me a chance to try out my new Tamron 24-70 lens , especially with the Stiched pano taken on top of the 100ft high Etherley Viaduct . The station where the diesels are is Stanhope , which fans of Vera will recognise as where the old lady was found dead in the train , also the track has had a dead body on it in George Gently !
