The day before our trip down to Weardale we went up to Alnwick to see how the AVR was progressing , They are heading out back to Alnmouth at a good pace . They also had a new loco , an ex NCB / LH&JR Austerity Tanker . BTW if you are up in the area can recommend lunch at Barter Books in the old NER Alnwick Station .
